Experience
The firm is lead by founder Jim Beasley, who has nearly 40 years of experience in litigation. Jim began his practice on Wall Street with Sullivan & Cromwell LLP and Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP. Jim is routinely recognized as among the best litigation lawyers in the State of Florida, and he is among a small and elite group of lawyers who have been peer-selected as the “Best Lawyers in America” every year since 1983, when the edition was first published to recognize the top-tier litigators throughout the country. Jim is also the subject of a chapter in the recent book “The Money Lawyers” by Joseph C. Goulden.
Jim has tried cases and argued appeals in state and federal courts throughout Florida, and in federal courts in many other states, producing more than fifty reported decisions.
Jim’s litigation experience is enhanced by his substantial experience in business transactions. Early in his career, in addition to litigation, Jim represented clients in public and private offerings of securities, compliance by public companies with SEC reporting requirements, mergers and acquisitions, financings, and other transactions. Jim served as general counsel to one of the premier real estate development companies in Florida and numerous other public companies.
Jim is a leader in the community, and has dedicated his time to many community and charitable organizations in Miami and Palm Beach County.
