FIRM OVERVIEW

The West Palm Beach-based law firm of Beasley Hauser Kramer Leonard& Galardi, P.A., has substantial experience in representing both plaintiffs and defendants in an array of business-related matters. Sophisticated individuals and professionals including other lawyers rely on the firm to represent them in complex business cases.

The firm offers decades of experience, personalized client service, and a collective approach to cases.

We have extensive experience litigating a broad range of complex business matters, including securities, real estate, health care, partnerships, contracts, professional malpractice, trusts and estates, and bankruptcy, says Jim Beasley, whose background includes practice with major law firms on Wall Street and in Miami and Palm Beach County.

Beasley has been listed in the Best Lawyers in America every year since the first edition in 1983. Beasley was listed as a Super Lawyer in 2006-2008 as well, and he appears on Florida Trend magazine’s 2007 and 2008 lists of Legal Elite.

The South Florida Legal Guide lists the firm as one of the Top Law Firms in South Florida in 2008. The firm has a Martindale-Hubbell® rating of AV, for the highest ethical standards and professional ability.

The members of our firm all are experienced in the courtroom, says Beasley, who also emphasizes that the firm’s attorneys are experienced in state and federal courts as well as mediation and arbitration. Beasley Hauser has been involved in much large-scale litigation, even though it is a small firm. Beasley explains this is because we function internally like the litigation department of a large firm and we use a collective approach designed to give clients the best results. Everyone works as part of a team, with the key advantage that all of our lawyers are experienced.

Our clients come to us for frank advice and sound judgment to help resolve the disputes they may be facing, says Beasley. We prepare every case as if it will go to trial. As a result, we strive to make our cases sufficiently compelling with the goal of achieving satisfactory settlements. However, we do not hesitate to take cases to trial if that becomes necessary.

Beasley Hauser is known as a firm of lawyer’s lawyers. Referrals from other lawyers account for a large percentage of the firm’s business. Moreover, other attorneys turn to Beasley Hauser to represent them in matters such as fee disputes, partnership dissolutions, and advice and representation in major cases, including professional liability. The firm works both on an hourly and on a contingency basis.

We provide the kind of personal service that is only possible in a relatively small group, where we see one another and exchange ideas daily, Beasley says. We also believe that communication and collaboration with our clients is key. We keep them well informed of our progress with their cases.

All of the partners at Beasley Hauser keep up with current business trends and practices, and are familiar with the nuances of business language and the ways that transactions can be structured from IPOs to partnership break-ups. These efforts are designed to serve all of their clients well, whether they are plaintiffs or defendants. “Our extensive experience in finance and accounting issues gives us immediate insight into the facts and possibilities in most business disputes,” says Beasley.

Dedicated to the Community and the Profession.

Deep knowledge of the judicial system, as well as of the law, increases the firm’s overall effectiveness. Patti Leonard and Joe Galardi both served as judicial interns for the Honorable Kenneth L. Ryskamp in the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida. Robert J. Hauser was a law clerk at the Third District Court of Appeal. The attorneys at Beasley Hauser Kramer Leonard & Galardi, P.A., have a record of leadership and service on committees of the Florida Bar, the Palm Beach County Bar Association (PBCBA), the Florida Association of Women Lawyers, and other professional organizations. Cultural, civic, and academic and charitable organizations also benefit from their generous donations of time, energy, and financial support.

Jim Beasley is a former chairman of the Palm Beach County Convention Center Advisory Board, and also formerly chaired the Palm Beach Opera’s board of directors. He is a past president of the Harvard Law School Association of Florida and of Davidson College’s South Florida alumni chapter. Hauser volunteers with the Autism Project of Palm Beach County by helping the organization with its fundraising projects. He is also a member of the Florida Bar’s Appellate Practice Section. With the PBCBA, he serves on the Appellate Practice and the Medical/Legal committees, and is a member of the Florida Justice Association.

Ray Kramer has been active on the PBCBA’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee since 2005, and is a member of the Florida Justice Association. He serves on the board of directors of the Georgetown Club of Palm Beach. The Palm Beach Cultural Council and the Young Friends of the Palm Beach Opera count on Kramer for leadership. Joe Galardi serves on the Judicial Relations Committee of the PBCBA, a group that sets up programs and events that give the bench and bar an opportunity to interact outside of the courtroom.

Patti Leonard has served on several committees of the PBCBA, including those for professionalism, judicial relations, and the young lawyers division. In 2006, she co-founded PBCBA’s Independence of the Judiciary Committee, and continues to co-chair it. This committee is meant to inform the public about the role of judges in our society, and the importance of three separate and co-equal branches of government, explains Leonard. For the Palm Beach chapter of the Florida Association of Women Lawyers, she formally co-chaired the Pro Bono Committee, putting into effect an adopt-a-case program for which FAWL was honored with a Legal Aid award and also co-chaired the Judicial Reception Committee. Leonard is also active with University of Virginia Alumni Club of the Palm Beaches, and has served as president and vice president of the club.

“Through contacts we have developed in the community, we have forged friendships and acquaintances throughout business and society,” says Beasley. “We are proud of the experience the firm has developed and the types of cases we have handled.”

Jim Beasley, Rob Hauser, and Joe Galardi have appeared in appeals in state and federal courts, including appeals to the District Courts of Appeal of Florida, the Supreme Court of Florida, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and appeals of bankruptcy court decisions to the U.S. District Court. The firm handles appeals arising from its own cases and those from referring law firms. The firm’s lawyers have been involved in over 60 published appellate decisions.
