Joe Galardi has handled a variety of complex commercial litigation matters for plaintiffs and defendants in state court, federal court and in arbitrations Joe has significant experience in a broad range of disputes, including breach of contract, financial and banking related litigation, trade secret claims, partnership disputes and dissolutions, professional malpractice, and the prosecution of securities class actions. Joe’s cases frequently involve complex “e-discovery” issues, and he has extensive experience litigating these issues in court. Joe has successfully tried both jury and bench trials, and he has represented clients on appeal. Joe is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell, which is the highest rating awarded to lawyers by their peers for legal ability and professional ethical standards. He has been ranked among the “Florida Legal Elite” by Florida Trend magazine and he has been selected to Florida Super Lawyers for multiple years as a top-rated business litigator. Representative Experience

  • Representation of a reinsurance broker in defense of a federal lawsuit filed by one of the largest insurance companies for approximately $8 million in damages for alleged negligence and breach of fiduciary duty for failure to procure reinsurance.
  • Representation of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in the professional liability investigations of seven failed community banks located in Panama City, Tampa, Orlando, and South Florida, and in resulting federal lawsuits filed against former bank directors and officers.
  • Representation of the American affiliate of one of the world’s largest financial institutions in defense of claims brought by a senior investment advisor arising out of termination of his employment.
  • Representation of a hospital in defense of executive employee non-compete and trade-secret claims brought by an affiliate of one of the largest hospital management companies in the United States.
  • As co-lead counsel, representation of Madoff Ponzi scheme victims in a federal securities class action filed against the recipients of over $7 billion in Ponzi scheme proceeds for their participation in the fraud.
  • As co-lead counsel, representation of victims of the $7 billion Allen Stanford Ponzi scheme in a federal securities class action against largest global clearing firm.
  • Jury verdict on liability for an orthopedic surgeon in claims against his partners and the world’s largest medical technology company for misappropriated royalties in connection with the development of a spinal implant system resulting in an approximate $30 million recovery for the plaintiff’s company.
  • Jury verdict for an entrepreneur against one of the largest suppliers of construction materials in the United States and Canada in a case involving theft of trade secrets and other business torts.
  • Representation of a multi-national law firm in defense of professional malpractice claims arising out of a complex HMO acquisition and arising out of an airport related real estate transaction.
